Recruitment Programs

Recruiting on campus can take many forms. The Student Success Centre at McMaster University offers traditional on-campus recruiting tools, such as career fairs and on-campus interviewing to experiential education programs that can be worked into your campus recruiting practices.

Successful campus recruitment campaigns involve building your brand on campus, development of meaningful relationships with staff, faculty and student organizations and participation in on-campus events. Our job is to help you conduct a successful campus recruitment and retention campaign and ensure that you meet the best qualified candidates for your positions.

Our formal recruitment programs include:

  • On-Campus Recruitment (OCR) – A national recruitment program aimed at targeting final year students and new grads seeking full-time employment.
  • On-Campus Recruitment Summer (OCRS) – A recruitment program targeting students in all Faculties and at all levels of study seeking full-time, part-time, internship and volunteer opportunities.
  • Summer Career Field Experience Program – Aimed at increasing the availability of summer job opportunities in the not-for-profit sector and providing experiential opportunities to students in all Faculties and at all levels of study.
  • Cooperative and Internship Programs – Faculty-specific career centres have been established to meet the targeted needs of students and employers seeking specific qualifications and offering co-op and internship placements.
